The Texas Public Information Act in Government Code Chapter 552 addresses public information, but judicial case information is governed through court rules, other law, and the responsible court or clerk. Texas Rule of Judicial Administration 12 chiefly concerns judicial administrative records and does not by itself govern access to case files.
